This is director’s Mark Goffman's doc**entary about five ventriloquists at different stages of their careers and their lives. I was not sure about this film at first, it seems like an odd theme to examine in a doc**entary and I am not a big fan of puppets. However, this film was very interesting and emotional. The characters in the film are very different and very interesting individuals. I was especially fascinated by Dylan Burdette, who is still a teenager but he has been interested in dummies and puppets since he was a toddler. The film is well paced and it kept my interest the whole time, therefore I recommend seeing it in the theaters. -
This is a doc**entary about five ventriloquists and their struggles and joys with the chosen career. I think that the doc**entary was alright, but I do not like the subject of it because it is kind of pointless and a little bit creepy. I do not know if it was worth my time to watch people talk about their problems and about their dummies, it seems silly to me, but might be very interesting to other people. I did enjoy the stories but missed the explanation to why these people are so obsessed with dummies, I really needed one.
