I went to see this movie with my little sister who loves anything animated and I have to say that I probably loved it as much as she did - if not more so! I think I enjoyed it so much because the movie is packed with dialogue that just never ends - the one-liners spill out of the screen at lightning speed and if you get them, you'll be chuckling throughout, no doubt. I think I even laughed more than my little sister who didn't quite get all the references in the movie to historical and pop culture references.
Mostly what I liked was that the movie had something for everyone - including fans of opera! I have never seen a kids movie make such brilliant use of opera music and emotions as this movie. Adults will get the jokes and kids will enjoy the animation and the lively characters. A great family film for the summer.

I admit that I took my kids to see this because they like the first two movies though I thought they were just okay. They're definitely not up to the Pixar or DreamWorks standard (at least Kung Fu Panda in terms of DreamWorks, that is) but this is actually the best of the three movies, I think. The zany group of animals at the center of the story find themselves in Europe and have to find a way to survive and to get back home. They decide that they'll travel across the continent by pretending to be a traveling circus. There are a lot of fun and funny moments in the movie, though sometimes the humor is a bit too crude for my tastes.
The only thing I wish the makers of this movie took into account is that their movies need more heart. Otherwise they kind of play like an endless string of one-liners which, while funny, don't engage you in the story. I'm sure if they thought just a bit harder they'd come up with something better.
As for seeing in in 3D, its up to you. My kids really enjoyed the effect, but it made me dizzy with all the colors and patterns. 3D is definitely not for everyone.

Ha, I love these crazy animals characters. They're full of sass and wisdom and make you wish that animals really did talk and behave this way (or at least some humans, lol).
This third Madagascar movie is probably the best in the series because it takes the animals out of Africa and makes them fight for survival. They have to learn how to make their way through Europe on their own, which they do by pretending to be a traveling circus.
There are a lot of great celebrity voices in the film, including Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Andy Richter, Sacha Baron Cohen and Martin Short. All of them play their characters hilariously and get huge, big laughs. I think this was the first movie in the series to come out in 3D - I hope it's not the last, I love these guys!

I think this is a great family film and it is worth seeing in the theaters if you have children in your life. The film was fast, funny, entertaining and i loved all of the characters in it. i have not seen the previous films but I might see them because this one was great. My little cousins loved the movie as well and they were definitely entertained. The animation is creative and colorful and there is a lot of happening all of the time which can be troublesome for children who are a bit more sensitive.

I've never really been a big fan of the whole "Madagascar" series - it's not that they're bad movies, far from it really, they're just not that memorable. I can't remember a single line or character from the first two movies that stood out in my mind. I can, however, remember every detail from movies like "Wall-E", "Up" and "Kung Fu Panda".
In this latest sequel, the animals find themselves in Europe and they end up having to disguise themselves as a traveling circus to get by. Of course, things go crazy and haywire after a while and they have to find a way back home. There are usual jokes and buddy-buddy moments, which I'm guessing little boys will like in the audience. I enjoyed the film for what it was - a pleasant way to spend the afternoon while trying to beat the summer heat - but if they don't make another sequel, that's fine by me.

I enjoyed this latest animated romp about Africa's craziest bunch of animals on the go, though I have to admit that the animation wasn't quite what I was hoping for. Maybe it's because Pixar has spoiled us with their lush and sumptuous films, but other studios' films just don't have that richness of detail or style that make the movie special. Madagascar 3 is fun, sure, but it's probably not a movie you're going to remember an hour after it's over. Can you say the same about "Up" or "Wall-E"? Or even "Kung Fu Panda"?
Because the animation was just serviceable, there isn't really much reason to see the movie in 3D. There are a few sequences in the film that are amazingly bright in color and design, but I would venture to guess that it looks about the same in regular format as it does in 3D. It's kind of flat - fun, but flat. Maybe they'll get it right in the next (inevitable) sequel?!

This is my favorite one of Madagascar series and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film is definitely fun and the whole family can enjoy it together. I saw it with my younger brother and we both had a pretty good time. The film is fast paced and entertaining and I loved all the characters. I do have to say that the film has a lot going on and if you get overwhelmed easily i do not suggest seeing this, it is definitely a bit of sensory overload. Overall, the film is great for the whole family and it is a great summer film.

I have seen all of the Madagascar films and I have no doubt that this one is the best one, it is even better than the original one. I had a great time watching this film and highly recommend seeing it in the theaters with your little ones, it is a great family film. The movie is very fast paced and a lot is happening so i do have to warn parents who have a more sensitive child because this film is very busy and it can overwhelm a sensitive child. Otherwise, the film has great characters a good story and it is all about friendship which is great.

Well I liked this movie. The animation of it (especially on the circus scene) was awesome. I mean I kept thinking, how the hell could that be done like that? How can these animals fly through piano played rings? ANd then I reminded myself that it was a cartoon/movie and that made better sense.
I took my daughter to watch it in 3D, and well... 3D isn't for young kids. You cant make them wear those glasses!
OTher than that? It was a great movie.
