Resident Evil: Retribution Movie Reviews
User reviews on Resident Evil: Retribution
The storyline was very lackluster... very disappointing. The acting was B-grade at best and the music score was ridiculous. I do NOT recommend seeing this film. It was almost a walk-out for me and my girlfriend. The only people that will really enjoy this travesty are the diehard fans.
Yet another Resident Evil movie is upon us. I was a huge fan of the video games before the first movie came out. And then, the first movie was so awesome! However, since then the subsequent 5 or 6 next films were just all pretty bad. It’s like they gutted the production value after the first one. However, Resident Evil is back with Retribution. This movie was gory, scary, bloody, and very cool. Milla Jovovich is just as sexy as ever and she kicks some Umbrella corp ass. The story in this film was pretty good but overall it was just a fun movie to watch.
Milla Jovovich is back in Resident Evil: Retribution. She also brings with her one of my favorite actresses, Michelle Rodriguez. All of the Resident Evil movies are pretty much the same: Milla is trying to figure out her ties to the Umbrella Corporation while at the same time kicking some major butt of deformed monsters. As always, the story was just ok but the “coolness” factor was in full effect in this movie. Every scene was filled with corny one-liners that I loved and Milla was kicking butt and taking names like normal. This movie definitely isn’t for everyone but I definitely enjoyed it. It’s not going to win any awards but it’s a good way to spend a weekend night.
I have to admit that these films are a bit of guilty pleasure for me and i am not ashamed even though I probably should be. It is the same sort of story that the previous films had and there is enough blood and shooting for my boyfriend’s taste and I just love watching Mila Javovich kick ass and take names. I realize that this film is not the smartest one nor it is original but I love it for some weird reason and I have seen every single one of them in the theaters and this one will not be an exception.
