Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy Movie Reviews

I agree with one of the above reviewers: this film is not for everyone, you must bring something to the table. Namely, an appreciation for intensity, tightness, subtlety, a superbly written script, and super character acting. This film had it all. It was l little like a well crafted slide show, each scene pregnant with detail and it moved to the next, and the next and the next until JACKPOT! George Smiley has been reinvented from his cinematic predecessors: Richard Burton and Alex Guiness. T,T,S,S has moved into my top 10 of all time.
Based on the commercial I saw, I couldn't wait for this movie to come out. I wasted my time and money: It's a snoozer. Seriously. Maybe it's too cerebral for me, but I'll tell you folks sitting all around me commented out loud how the movie "seemed to suck the life out of the audience," and "I can't figure out what's going on."
If you choose to see it, remember you were warned.
This is the worst movie I have seen in at least ten years. The story is good and the acting ok. However it moves so slowly it is virtually unwatchable. Save your time and money.
Not everyone will like this film but I absolutely loved it and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film is made brilliantly and the mood of the era is captured perfectly, it also has an amazing cast that do great job and elevate this film even more. It is definitely a movie for grown-ups in a best sense possible. The director paid a lot of attention to detail and I liked how betrayal was addressed in political and human level. This director has an amazing ability to create an atmosphere that will glue you to the screen and will not let go till the very end. However, if you do not like slow moving films I do not suggest this film for you.
