I am not a big fan of this film, it was way too depressing for my taste and the humor was too realistic and dark. However, i would see this film again just for Charlize Theron’s performance, she was absolutely great. She plays a character that is not likable at all and absolutely nails it, I was amazed of her talent once again and of course it does not hurt that she is gorgeous. This film is definitely an indie style comedy and I am not the biggest fan of those but people who enjoy watching indie films will probably love this movie. the film made me a bit depressed and sad and I do not like feeling like that after a movie so I do not recommend seeing this film in the theaters.

This film was alright and it was interesting to watch but the main attraction of this film is Charlize Theron who was absolutely amazing. In my opinion, she is one of the best actresses of our time and she keeps on taking roles that are challenging and different and it is very impressivewhat she does with those roles. This film was kind of uncomfortable to watch from time to time and Theron totally goes for it and is not afraid to push boundries and make her character as real as possible. The film is labeled as a comedy but you will not find too many laughs in it, it will be more of uncomfortable giggles. Overall, I recommend seeing this film solely for Theron’s performance it is worth the price of the ticket.

I kind of liked this film and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters. I have to warn people that it is a sad film and it is not easy to watch, in the same time the film is very honest and Charlize Theron is absolutely amazing in it. I was also really impressed with Patton Oswalt and him and Theron made this film so much better than it really is. I do not know if this film qualifies to be a comedy, actually if you are used to indie comedies you will probably find it funnier than I did but i still enjoyed watching this film. Some scenes made me very uncomfortable and I bet i am not the only one who had that experience in this film in the same time I admire the director for not shying away from uncomfortable material and praise Theron for totally going for it.

Growing up can be hard, especially if you are still caught up in the horror show that is high school. I know a lot of people deep in their thirties and even into their forties who are still trying to get over that time. Charlize Theron's Mavis embodies the feelings many of the people I know have in Young Adult, though most of those feelings aren't wrapped in a package as gorgeous as Charlize Theron.
And that's what makes Mavis so interesting. Usually, these kind of films are about those that were bullied, going back to get revenge or prove how good life has gotten. Here, Mavis was the hot, popular girl, who still harbors the attitude most of those girls lost in their 20s. Fresh off a divorce, Mavis, who lives off alcohol and fast food while writing books for young adults, heads back home to try and strike things up with her high school flame, even though he's a happily married new dad. Mavis strikes up a kinship with a bullied former classmate, played by a standout Patton Oswalt.
Theron won an Oscar for uglying herself up for Monster, and while her performance was excellent in that film, part of the allure was how she made herself so hard to look at. Here, all of Mavis' ugliness comes from the inside, which is much harder to play, but Theron proves she can dig to the inner core of Mavis and find that girl who got everything she wanted, and can't understand why that time is over. It's a fascinating character study that falls over the line of being over the top at times, but it's always fascinating and often very funny.

I thought this film was pretty good and I think that it is worth seeing it in the theaters solely for Theron’s performance and an awesome and twisted story. The film was kind of hard to watch sometimes but i like films like that, I like a challenge. I think that Charlize Theron totally rocked this role, she was really convincing and daring, this women is so freaking talented it’s almost not fare. The film itself had some minor errors and annoyances but Theron’s performance outshines all of that. Actually the whole cast was really good in this film and that lifted this film way up. I think that the director has a great eye for choosing a right actor for a certain role. What I liked the most about this film is that it was brutally honest. Overall, I recommend seeing this film in the theaters.

This is a drama about a fiction writer who comes back home to a small-town Minnesota after her divorce, the film is directed by Jason Reitman and stars Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson and Patton Oswalt. I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. I think the story was great and some bold choices were made which I really appreciated. The film was not easy to watch sometimes but it was really honest and I loved that. I think Charlize Theron was wonderfully nasty in her role and I am always amazed how talented she is. Overall, I think this film is worth seeing in the theaters.
